Happy chinchillas have 2, very distinct movements... popcorning (jumping straight up in the air like a piece of popcorn popping) and wall surfing (running up the wall and back down). Don't despair though, if your chinchilla does NOT do either of these, it doesn't necessarily mean they are unhappy. Here are some great videos of happy chinchillas.
