Chinchillas have a fragile skeletal system and care should be taken to protect them. Their floating rib cage can easily break with a simple bunny kick, cat swipe, dog maul, etc. we strongly suggest that your chinchilla only interact with chinchillas. Additionally, bunnies and cats can be a carrier for pasturella (so show no symptoms) which chinchillas are susceptible to, and can catch from a carrier cat or bunny.  Mochi, owned by Ariel Martin |
